From IGN Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy Release date leaked?
“Speaking about the Wizarding World IP, Wakley touched on some new developments coming through next year. She referred to “two major releases” in 2022, with the first being Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which recently moved up in the theatrical release calendar to April 15, and the second being Hogwarts Legacy, which was delayed in January.
“The second major release of 2022 will be for a new console game: Hogwarts Legacy,” Wakley told the publication. “The reaction to the trailer has been amazing and it looks set to be a huge success. We know that gaming is such an important part of the market and one that we had to be involved in. From what we’ve seen, the launch will be well worth the wait and will deliver a unique way for fans to interact with the franchise.”
From Screen Rant
“A new patent suggests future PlayStation games could enjoy picture quality similar to that of Nvidia’s deep learning super sampling technology. Nvidia’s DLSS, available exclusively using the company’s GPU products, uses deep learning to automatically upscale low-resolution images into a higher quality. PlayStation consoles do not currently have an equivalent to DLSS, meaning games like God of War can use Nvidia DLSS on PC to achieve a much higher resolution than the title’s original PlayStation version.
Companies often file patents for new ideas, with massive companies like Sony annually filing many patents to protect potential innovations. With Sony releasing the PlayStation 5 in November 2020, a number of patents have been filed that could hint at the console’s future. Recently the patent blueprints for the PlayStation 5 itself were released, giving interested fans a clear look at the new-generation console’s inner workings. The blueprints notably detailed the console’s cooling system, which help it to remain at operational temperature while also running very demanding modern titles. A more interesting patent, filed in April 2021, involves an artificial intelligence system within PlayStation games – which could potentially play games for the player by studying and mimicking their style.”
Infamous hacking group Fail0verflow claims to have made major progress in its bid to break open the PlayStation 5’s security.
Today, the collective said it had gained access to internal “PS5 root keys” used to decrypt parts of the PS5’s firmware.
Fail0verflow did not provide any detailed information on how it had done this, and there’s no suggestion the group will now share this information more widely.
But today’s development is likely a huge concern for Sony, who will be keen to ensure the PS5 is not fully jailbroken, and that details of Fail0verflow’s apparent progress are not publicised further.
“We got all (symmetric) ps5 root keys. They can all be obtained from software – including per-console root key, if you look hard enough!” Fail0verflow wrote this morning.
“Another one bites the dust [sunglasses emoji]”.
